Outlook - Outlook 2003, Outlook Connector, and Windows Mobile Device Center

I am trying to get my mobile device to synchronize with the account in
Outlook 2003 created with Outlook Connector. However, I only seem to be able
to get it to synchronize with the main calendar. The same is true for
contacts. If I could, I would actually just synchronize directly with
Hotmail, but as far as I know the only way is to use Outlook as a
middle-man. What can I do to make Windows Mobile Device Center synchronize
with the calendars & contacts that I want? Thanks.

AFAIK, you cannot sync with the outlook connector account. It is stupid that
windows mobile cannot sync directly with live accounts.

I do not remember exactly how I set it up, but before I got my new computer
(I just got a new machine with Windows 7, I was still using Windows XP
before), I had Outlook 2003 set up so that it was able to synchronize with
my Windows Live Hotmail account. I was then able to synchronize Outlook 2003
with my Windows Mobile device (obviously I had to use ActiveSync then, since
I was still using XP), but I did not need to manually copy anything between
the calendars inside Outlook 2003, so there is either something that
ActiveSync was capable of that Windows Mobile Device Center is not, or I am
still not setting everything up the same (which is possible, since I do not
remember all my exact settings in Outlook 2003 on my other machine). Any
more ideas? Thanks.

Use POP3 for the live account - but that only gets mail, not calendar and
contacts. The connector account will not sync.

Sync software does not sync with accounts. It syncs with the delivery location
in the mail profile. Have you tried designating the Hotmail folders as your
delivery location? First, back up your mobile device and your local PST.
Then in Outlook, click Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next and change the "Deliver new
e-mail to the following location" drop-down to select the Hotmail folders, if
you can. If that works, click FInish, then stop and restart Outlook. Try to
sync the mobile device now.

Thanks! I knew there was a way, and I think you just helped me find it! So
whatever the reason, I am now able to sync like I was before. Thanks.

I was not entirely convinced this would work. I am glad it does.

Looking for good email program? Outlook Hi forum members, This is the first time I have posted at this forum, and to an excellent internet / web based email. With Microsoft, it appears I have two choices, Outlook, or Outlook Express. Up front I am stating, not interested in all the bells and whistles that that exists, whether it is free, or, I have to pay for it. So, between Outlook and Outlook Express, what are the pros and cons about one versus the other? Please do not about the stuff I have stated I am not interested in. Simply want to compare Outlook vs Outlook Express's email program and how either will serve me best. My needs: 1 - I do not waste anybody's time with stuff that is not relevant to my question. OE-like handling of HTML source and MIME source in Windows 7? Outlook I have not tried Windows 7 by myself yet. I only read what is written = everywhere, which as usual I cannot blindly trust. 1) So, it is said that under W7 you cannot use OE (Outlook Express). = Please anyone confirm, if possible with accurate tested links. 2) It is said that in W7, OE is replaced with "Windows Mail". Please = anyone confirm. 3) In W7, whatever the mail tool Windows Mail I assume), am I able to = do the same as in OE+Notepad, particularly
