Outlook - My Outlook Express is acting real strange and I need help desperat

Hi
Not hugely technical but I'm being alerted of emails coming in (tone and
inbox in bold) however, 50% are coming through fine, 25% are attaching
themselves to previous received emails (at the bottom after a lot of strange
code) and the rest, instead of appearing, show themselves purely as
duplicates of emails I've received before. Ie, I sent myself 6 emails and
only half formatted normally, the others appeared (or didn't) among emails
that I received 2 months ago.

I'm thinking I need to re-install OE but have the impression that's a whole
nightmare I should avoid if poss.

Any advice hugely welcome.

View | Current View. Is anything checked besides Show All Messages? Uncheck
them.

Hi Bruce
view / current view /show all messages is checked. Can only uncheck that by
checking something else.

You want Show All Messages to be checked, but nothing else like Group
Messages By Conversation.

If that does not resolve it, try a new identity next.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main
Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it.
If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old
identity and delete it.
