Outlook - How to set expiry dates on deleted items folder Exchange 2003

Asked By kathie on 06-Aug-07 09:04 PM
Hi,
Exchange 2003 outlook 2003.
Is there a way to send Items to the deleted items folder and hold them there
for about 3 weeks and then they automatically get removed from folder. I
could not find a suitable rule for this. I have rules setup to send stuff to
the deleted items folder but would like it to stay in that folder for about 3
weeks so I can refer back to it. Kind of like setting email expiry dates.
thanks

You can use AutoArchive for this but instead of archiving it to another
pst-file tell it to delete it.

thanks but sorry thats no good to us. We have a group policy setting to
disable Auto archiving for all users. Its a management request.

Well then there is no way to automate this; they've disabled the
functionality that should take care of your scenario.
