why does deleted email have a line thru it

Asked By Michael

I have 2 email accounts. One works fine. On the other; when I delete an
email I have a line thru it and the email stays in the inbox and cannot be
removed. Help.

Did you try and hit Send\Receive when the line is through the message.

That's because it is an IMAP account. That's normal behaviour.

That's because it is an IMAP account. That's normal behaviour. IMAP accounts
replicate what is on the server so you need to do Edit-Purge on that
particular inbox.
(You can set Outlook to hide messages marked for deletion and also to purge
automatically on exit or when moving to a different folder...)

Well, we cannot really say this because we do not know the OP's Outlook

Well, we cannot really say this because we do not know the OP's Outlook version.
Outlook 2007 allows this, but earlier versions did not.

Gordon,

You appear to be a sharp cookie. With OL 2003 & IMAP, I have a constant not
responding. This comes after the lines go through emails i wih to delete. It
alos occurs after I close and reopen OL. The lines are gone (from the deleted
emails) and I still cannot open an email. Any words of wisdom? Ok, how about
a solutuon?
