I am using outlook 2003 with work 2003 as my default editor (as usual). But
this morning when I try to send a message from outlook 2003, outlook hangs
with the following error in event viewer: event ID 1001, file name:
faultrep.dll, file version 5.1.2600.5512 outlook hangs with the text box
saying word 2003 is starting as your default editor. I have to close outlook
2003 through the task manager to get it to end. This only started happening
today. I have put outlook 2003 in safe mode (outlook.exe /safe) and that is
the only way I can sent a test message to another user. What do I do to
solve this problem and what should I look for to fix this problem.

Part of Windows Error Reporting.

After running Outlook in its safe mode and seeing it worked okay in that
mode, did you disable all add-ons and then load Outlook in its normal mode
to retest? If that works, start enabling the add-ons one at a time, reload
Outlook, and retest.

I will try that in the morning and let you know how things are going. Is
there anywhere to look on the web or microsoft to find out what the
faultrep.dll file does in windows?

I have started to disable some of the addons and outlook seemes to be working
again. However, when I looked, I noticed that word 2003 was no longer my
default editor for email messages. I then tried to set word 2003 back as my
default editor, but I get an error message saying that word 2003 can be used
as the default email editor as word (not even listed in the error as word
2003) is either not installed, corrupted or not the same version as outlook
2003. I have done nothing to word 2003 and I believe that it is still
installed. What would cause this problem and how to do I fix it?

Looking for good email program? Outlook Hi forum members, This is the first time I have posted at this forum, and to an excellent internet / web based email. With Microsoft, it appears I have two choices, Outlook, or Outlook Express. Up front I am stating, not interested in all the bells and whistles that that exists, whether it is free, or, I have to pay for it. So, between Outlook and Outlook Express, what are the pros and cons about one versus the other? Please do not about the stuff I have stated I am not interested in. Simply want to compare Outlook vs Outlook Express's email program and how either will serve me best. My needs: 1 - I do not waste anybody's time with stuff that is not relevant to my question. Outlook or Outlook Express? For EMAIL PURPOSES. One or the other, Why vs Why Not? After

Saving attachments to folder from public folder Outlook Hey there! I am currently working on a project that involves merging data from many into one Excel workbook for analysis. The csv files are sent to a public folder (outlook: \ Public Folders \ All Public Folders \ etc. . .) I thought the easiest way to do this would be to import the data straight from Outlook to the Excel file but after much painful testing I could not get it to main mailbox folders, not public and am unsure why. . . I have almost no experience with Outlook coding so any help is appreciated! This is the current code: If there is a instead of using a selection, that is fine too! What is the future of Outlook? Outlook I have been using Outlook for about ten years and so have a lot of data that I wish to preserve. But Microsoft seem to be abandoning Outlook (unless you use are a corporate user and have Exchange server). I am a private across a variety of devices is still important to me. This is not possible with outlook - unless you have Exchange. So my question is - do I abandon outlook amd move to Windows live mail (with its shortfalls compared to Outlook)? Or should I hang on to Outlook in the hope that Microsoft will implement cloud
