I have a MobileMe email set up in Outlook, but it adds a separate folder and
a separate inbox instead of the one it opens automatically, the one in
personal folders. I want my MobileMe inbox to be integrated with the default
one, because then I can get a desktop notification.
Here is a picture describing what I mean

Outlook Outlook / Exchange 500 MB of emails disappeared. Hi Here is what happened. The user has outlook configured as cached mode on his Vista Desktop. He wanted to get his Outlook mails on his laptop so that he can work from home. I created a new profile on his outlook. Configured outlook to download mails from the LAN. Also, I created a VPN link, so that he download emails. He went home fired-up the VPN and tried downloading emails. He says outlook send / receive didnt work. So he closed the notebook. Next day he comes to office and he cant find mails from his outlook mailbox. * *Timeline* * 8 / 3 - Mailbox size 733MB. OST file size about 700MB-1GB 8 / 4
Outlook IMAP Instability & Performance I have a new computer with an i7 processor, 6gb Ram with my pop account to an imap. I then created a new imap email account in outlook using my existing email address. Ihave begun to copy all of my old email (1 month at a time) from the pop email account inbox and sent items folders to the corresponding folders in my imap email account. Although this due to the enormous amount of data being synched with the email server. Unfortunately when outlook checks for new mail it sometimes can take upto a minute while outlook is "not responding". Additionally outlook can temporarily freeze when switching folders and display "not responding" for a minute or so Outlook has now crashed twice in the last 2 days, it has never crashed before. IE IMAP account? I am seriously considering changing back to a pop email account and trying mobileme or some other such option. Any ideas?, advice? Why do you find it neccessary to
Outlook Replaced pop e-mail account with IMAP I currently have Outlook 2007 installed on a Windows business Vista 64 computer and have set up my e account. I am purchasing an iPhone and have read that it will synchronize everything in Outlook except the e-mail contents of the inbox and sent items folder. While their knowledgebase states that I can use the pop e mail account in the iPhone, it states that the only way to synchronize the inbox and sent items folders between the iPhone and Outlook is by using IMAP. [Actually they say that this can also be done using Microsoft exchange server and Mobilme, neither of which I have] I see in the Outlook help section that I can set up an e-mail account using IMAP. Before I provider change my account to an IMAP? 2. After creating an IMAP email account in outlook can I simply copy over all of the e-mail contents of my inbox and
Outlook Changing Default Calendar Name Not sure how I did this. While Setting Outlook up to work with Mobileme my default calander name changed from "Calendar" to "Work", something I thought could not happen the name change as is will it have any adverse effects going forward. Try starting Outlook once with the / resetfoldernames command switch. Start> Run (or Start Search)> outlook.exe / resetfoldernames Be sure to include the space after ".exe". - - Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] This is a common problem with the iphones - see Apple's iPhone forum for Mail 1144 for the causes. If you can open a new appointment form while viewing the inbox and it saves to the correct calendar, the name change is not a problem. - - Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http: / / www.outlook-tips.net / Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http: / / www.slipstick.com
