Outlook - can't send email via Outlook

I have read through many support listings on not being able to send email and
cannot find one that deals with my specific issue. I will try to be succinct,
but provide enough detail that many someone can help.

Situation:
Time Warner Cable, RoadRunner Internet service
- BEFSR41 Linksys router connected to a Toshiba cable modem (provide by RR)
- 1 LAN port of BEFSR41 connects to a WRT54G Linksys wireless router (only
used as access point)
- 1 WET610N Linksys Wireless Bridge connected to an HP Desktop via Ethernet

I was running this base configuration with PC connected to the WRT54G router
via Ethernet and my mail system (Outlook 2003) worked fine.

I moved the PC upstairs, hence the use of the Bridge. All systems seem to
run without issue, except that now I cannot send emails, I receive an error
message 421 4.4.2 from Symantec that the server timed out and rejected the
email.

If I take the PC back downstairs and connect to the LAN connection again I
can send email. No changes are made to the PC

If I connect back upstairs and shutdown Outlook 2003, then run Outlook
Express as my email client I can send email.

I have been online with Linksys, Time Warner and read as many postings as I
can find, but still do not have a solution to this problem. Any help is
appreciated.

A very simple fix. The issue is called "Norton Strikes Again". To rectify the issue
you will need to uninstall Norton as per their Uninstall Tool as per the link below.
Then re-install Norton without the email integration (scanning) option.
Post back with result

Peter, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, this did not solve my
problem. I uninstalled Symantec, then ran the Norton removal tool (rebooting
server times), then ran Outlook without Symantec Anitvirus installed. I get
the following error message:

! Task ???emailname@cinci.rr.com ??? Sending??? reported error (0x800CCC67): ???
The server Responded 421 4.4.3 service timed out.???

The issues remains that something in the WET610N and Outlook combination
will not allow email to flow into my ISP's smtp server. If I run Outlook
Express as my email client the mail works fine, or if all I do is unplug from
upstairs into the LAN jack downstairs email works fine using Outlook.

I have tried to increase the timeout, but that has not changed the result.

After some more testing I have been able to get Outlook email to work with my
WET610N bridge. I am not sure of the exact fix, but it appers that BEFSR41
was causing a delay, or caused RoadRunner to think it was spam (I am not
sure). I made two changes, first I installed my WRT54G as the gateway
(hooked up directly to the cable modem), then I configured my local server
for DNS and DHCP. After I did this email started to work outbound.

The reason I put the BEFSR41 as the gateway to start with was that I could
not apply the static IP address of my local server and keep the DNS IPs
supplied by RoadRunner when I was using the WRT54G as the gateway. I suspect
the primary cause was something in the BEFSR41 and WRT54G combination that
when a wireless connection was made it would not allow the email to flow
properly.

Saving attachments to folder from public folder Outlook Hey there! I am currently working on a project that involves merging data from many into one Excel workbook for analysis. The csv files are sent to a public folder (outlook: \ Public Folders \ All Public Folders \ etc. . .) I thought the easiest way to do this would be to import the data straight from Outlook to the Excel file but after much painful testing I could not get it to main mailbox folders, not public and am unsure why. . . I have almost no experience with Outlook coding so any help is appreciated! This is the current code: If there is a instead of using a selection, that is fine too! Looking for good email program? Outlook Hi forum members, This is the first time I have posted at this forum, and to an excellent internet / web based email. With Microsoft, it appears I have two choices, Outlook, or Outlook Express. Up front I am stating, not interested in all the bells and whistles that that exists, whether it is free, or, I have to pay for it. So, between Outlook and Outlook Express, what are the pros and cons about one versus the other? Please do not about the stuff I have stated I am not interested in. Simply want to compare Outlook vs Outlook Express's email program and how either will serve me best. My needs: 1 - I do not waste anybody's time with stuff that is not relevant to my question. Outlook or Outlook Express? For EMAIL PURPOSES. One or the other, Why vs Why Not? After
What is the future of Outlook? Outlook I have been using Outlook for about ten years and so have a lot of data that I wish to preserve. But Microsoft seem to be abandoning Outlook (unless you use are a corporate user and have Exchange server). I am a private across a variety of devices is still important to me. This is not possible with outlook - unless you have Exchange. So my question is - do I abandon outlook amd move to Windows live mail (with its shortfalls compared to Outlook)? Or should I hang on to Outlook in the hope that Microsoft will implement cloud synchronisation for Outlook? Outlook Discussions Outlook 2003
