Hello,

Outlook 2003 has been working perfectly until today. All of a sudden will
only start in safe mode. It comes up with outlook has encountered a problem
- sorry for the inconvenience - do you want to start in safe mode and send an
error report. This is the only way I can open outlook. I have done 3 repairs
and 2 restore points but am still encountering the problem. I have not
downloaded or installed anything.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Try setting up a new Mail Profile in Control Panel. Sounds like your old one
is corrupt. Change the Delivery location for new mail in your email accounts
in OL to the new Profile.

When you say repair, do you mean detect and repair? Have you tried =
running scanpst.exe against your Outlook data file?

Thank you.
Yes, detect and repair. I have just done a repair installation from the
disk and that hasn't worked either.
I searched for the scanpst.exe file and ran it with what i think is my
outlook data file and it came up with no problems.
Could someone tell me the best way to do a re-install rather than a repair
install from the disk - should I uninstall office first and start from
scratch or do l just put in the disk and opt for the re-install?
Many Thanks

Send / Receive Problem Outlook 2003 Outlook Outlook 2003, after working with no problem for 3+ years, now crashes every time I hit Send / Receive, with no error message other than "Outlook has encountered a problem and must close." Of course it also automatically sends an error report message to Microsoft (probably 20 by now). If it was an internet connection problem I deal with that, but the program just stops running and closes without any other choice.
